The Sound of the Banner: Facilitating the Manifest Presence of God

1. The Philosophy of Nissi Worship

At Church Jehova Nissi, worship is not the “opening act” for the sermon—it is the strategic warfare that prepares the atmosphere for a miracle. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that when we lift up the name of Jesus, the “Banner” is raised, and the enemy must flee. To reach 1 million souls, our music must be more than melodic; it must be an encounter with the Living God. We don’t just sing songs; we release the sound of Heaven over the city of Winnipeg and across the digital airwaves to the ends of the earth.

2. The Sound of Diversity

Because our vision is global, our sound is multicultural. We incorporate rhythms from the African continent, melodic structures from Asia, and the driving energy of modern Western worship. Our Worship Ministry is a laboratory of creative expression where professional excellence meets spiritual fire. We believe that if our music is world-class, it removes the barriers for the “unchurched” to enter the house of God.

3. Training the Global Levite

We don’t just use talent; we build it. Our Worship Ministry includes the Nissi School of Worship.

  • Mentorship: We offer internships for young musicians in Manitoba to learn the craft of worship leadership.
  • Global Workshops: Through our Membership Program, we send our worship leaders to Africa and Asia to host “Worship Intensives,” training local teams in vocal technique, instrument proficiency, and the theology of worship.

We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.
